Services
Antenatal Clinic
The practice provides a full antenatal and postnatal service
together with our midwife, Katie Gadsby. This involves shared care
between the midwife, the doctor and the hospital.
The surgery times are as follows:
Monday 1.30 pm onwards (Bolsover)
Wednesday 1.30 pm onwards (Bolsover)
Thursday 1.30 pm onwards (Glapwell)
A home booking service is also available. For More information
see the midwifery notice board in the waiting area.
Child Health
We undertake all primary immunisations of children ourselves and
operate a recall system. The practice was one of the first in
Derbyshire to introduce regular child development clinics and has
been involved since 1971. Clinics are held in conjunction with our
attached health visitors and a recall system operates for these
clinics as well.
Counsellor
Our counsellor Michelle Kay is available to help with emotional and
stress related difficulties. Referrals are made following
preliminary assessment by your doctor.
Family Planning
The practice provides a full family planning service by appointment
and is held on Saturday mornings at Welbeck Road Health Centre. This includes coil and implant fittings and removals as well as
"emergency" contraception. Emergency contraception is a valid reason
to ask for an urgent appointment.
Minor Surgery
The partners undertake various minor operations including injection
of joints, removal of cysts, cautery, etc. Dr S H Nissenbaum has a
regular minor surgical list at the Bolsover Surgery. Patients should
make an appointment to discuss any minor operations.
PODIATRY Podiatry is located at Welbeck Road Health
Centre. PRIMARY CARE MENTAL
HEALTH WORKER Amy Pullen is available to help with stress
management and anxiety. Referrals are made following preliminary
assessment by your doctor.
Private Medicals
We will attempt to fit these in at a convenient time at Bolsover
Surgery. Please bring any forms to reception when you book your
medical. A deposit is payable on booking.
Although the practice does not wish to promote private medical
treatment, if you do have private medical insurance cover, it may be
helpful in certain circumstances to tell the doctor.
Welfare Rights Worker
In April 1996 we employed the services of a Welfare Rights Worker.
George Downs works at both surgeries on a part time basis. Our aim
is to increase the uptake of benefits for our patients. Further
information can be obtained by telephoning George on (01246) 828277
or calling in at the Surgery.
