Asthma
We aim to provide continued monitoring and care of asthma/COPD
patients, and help them to improve self–management. Appointments are
offered to all patients with asthma/COPD to attend for annual review
with the practice nurse. Children with asthma are reviewed on a more
regular basis depending on the severity of their asthma. Patients
can have their peak flow and inhaler techniques reviewed and get up
to date information about new medications.

Blood Pressure Monitoring
Patients are advised to have their blood pressure checked regularly.
If their GP has prescribed medication to control their blood
pressure they will be advised to attend for more frequent
monitoring.

Childhood Immunisations
Childhood immunisations are given at 2, 3 and 4 months, to protect
small babies from whooping cough, tetanus, diphtheria, polio, HIB
meningitis and meningococcal meningitis C. Booster immunization is
also offered to pre-school and 15 year old children. The
Immunisation Clinic is held every Thursday morning, patients will be
invited by letter to attend. If, however, patients are unable to
attend the clinic, alternative appointments will be offered.

Diabetes
We aim to achieve good control of diabetes and prevent complications
by providing regular check-up’s and education. Appointments will be
offered to all patients with diabetes by letter. There are also
follow-up clinic for patients who need to be seen more frequently.

INR Monitoring
We offer an in-house clinic for monitoring patients who are taking
Warfarin. The clinic is held on Thursday morning, please speak to
Steph or Kay for further information.

Menopause - including hormone replacement therapy
We aim to provide information regarding all aspects of menopause and
HRT. Patients can have their weight and blood pressure checked and
discuss any concerns they have with the practice nurse.

Rheumatology
We offer rheumatology monitoring appointments. These are undertaken
by the practice nurse.

Secondary Prevention Heart Attack
An appointment for an annual review will be offered to all patients
who have angina or who have had a heart attack. The aim is to review
the condition, optimise the treatment, and lower risk factors in
order to prevent further illness.

Smoking Cessation
We advise all patients who are smokers to stop as soon as possible.
To help, our Practice Nurses offer support and advice to those
wanting to stop and organise nicotine replacement therapy.

Travel – holiday vaccinations and advice
Our practice nurses are able to advise you on all aspects of travel
health. In particular, they are able to advise on, and administer
immunisations. Please make an appointment to see our practice nurse
for an assessment of need for travel vaccinations well in advance of
your date for travel.

Well Person Clinics
These clinics are run by the Practice Nurses and the aim of the
clinic is to advise on a "healthy lifestyle" and disease prevention.
At these clinics we are able to offer blood pressure checks weight
advice and cervical smear testing. Please enquire at reception for
clinic times and to make an appointment.
