Appointments with the  Doctor or Nurse

Following feedback from our recent patient survey and government initiatives, we are rationalising our appointments system. This makes it easier to book appointments ahead at times to suit patients. However, for urgent appointments on the day, all requests must be made by telephone. This means that (with your co-operation) all these requests can be managed on the day.

We hope that this will do away with “the scrum” at our front door each morning.

In order to further improve the availability of appointments, we have increased the number of appointments that can be booked in advance.

The booking of appointments in advance can still be made in person at the desk.

Please note that URGENT same day appointments are no longer be available by turning up at Reception. All requests for these appointments should be made by telephone on (01246) 823742/825487.

Please remember that each appointment is for one patient only. If you wish to see the doctor of your choice you may have to wait longer than usual.

If you have any comments please do not hesitate to ask a member of staff.

Advance appointments with the doctor or the nurse can be made in person or by telephoning (01246) 823742/825487 between 8.00am and 6.30pm.

Cancelling an Appointment

Please arrive promptly and remember to cancel your appointment if you can no longer keep it; someone else may need to see the doctor urgently.

Non Attendance
In order to try and tackle our increasing problem with patients who do not turn up to appointments or fail to inform us that they are unable to attend, after 2 occasions patients will be sent a letter. If they continue to regularly offend they may be removed from our patient list.

We hope as a result of this action we will see an improvement in our DNA (Did Not Attend) rate that currently stands at over 200 per month. This equates to 33.5 hours of appointment time wasted.
